Aditi Phadke

I am a master’s student at the University of Washington, Seattle studying Computational Linguistics, advised by Gina-Anne Levow and Fei Xia. This summer, I worked in the Behavioral Data Science Lab (led by Tim Althoff and Jina Suh) as a Graduate Student Research Assistant.

I have always been drawn to the social impact of technology, and I hope to carry this forward in my research career. My interests include multi-turn LLM evaluation, safe human-LLM interaction in mental health contexts, latent state world modeling, and NLP research that exposes systemic bias. Language is my first love, so I hope to ultimately extend my research to multilingual settings, with the intent of minimizing technological bias for multilingual and differently abled populations globally.

Behavioral State World Modeling Master's thesis · Fall 2026

Predicting the unobservable behavioral state of the user from observable metrics such as audio and text. This is an extension of an ARPA-H grant project that constitutes similar work with wearable health sensor and location data.

  • User state simulation
  • HMMs
  • Speech recognition
Hidden behavioral states evolving over time, with AI responses influencing transitions and text and speech observations beneath each state.
